This dog originally from Italy, whose task was to guard. Italian name is Mastino Napoletano. The modern versions rediscovered in 1946, near the Mount Vesuvius.

The Neapolitan Mastiff is a powerful, muscular dog, at once the apperance is rustic and majestic. The skin is loose, it is especially striking on the head. In countries where it is permitted, the strong tail thirs cut.

A kind perculiarties of the corner of eye to courner of mouth running skinfold. The triangular ears are relatively small, in addition to the jaw hanging. The eyes are roughly circular in shape, but because of the loose skin above them small and slightly oval in shape appear. Bringing together of the eyelids and must cling to them tightly. The Neapolitan Mastiff scissor bite or pincer- like.

Height: 65-75 inches at the withers Males, Females 60-68 inches.

Body weight: males weigh 60-70 kg, females 50-60 kg

Hair:smooth coat is short (up to 1.5 cm) thick, close fitting and soft touch

Colors: they most often seen in blue gray color, but acceptable in gray, black, brown or red fox as well. All colors can striation. The tip of the chest and toes are allowed some white spots too.

Litter size: 5-8 puppies

Life expectancy: 10-13 years
